Wrap Per Inch Tool, Maple

Use: Measure the thickness of yarn by finding out how many wraps fit side by side within an inch.
Wood: Maple
Dimensions: 7 1/4″ x 1/2″

Details: The Wrap Per Inch Tool features a 1/2″, 1″, and 2″ measuring areas. There is a grove between each measuring section to keep track of the starting point. The notch or mouth on the end can be used to secure the yarn tail. The hole is to secure a thin yarn tail or to attach a hanging string.

Directions: You use the 2″ area for the most accurate measurement dividing the total by 2 for your WPI. The 1/2″ area is best for very fine lace yarn to save you having to wrap for a whole inch. Just multiply the total by 2 for the WPI.

The tool is designed and handmade by Cynthia D. Haney in her Virginia, USA workshop. It is finished with an oil varnish blend. The tool’s dimensions are rounded to the nearest 1/4″.

Wood is a natural product, which can change color over time. Some woods have more obvious color change than others. Wood may bleach if left in direct sun; the temperature difference from the sunny side to the shaded side of the item can also have detrimental effects.
Pictures are taken on a white or rich purple background. If it does not look white or rich purple on your screen the wood color may not be accurate. Please e-mail ch@cynthiahaney.com for clarification.
