Choose your own Gift

Purchase a spindle by size and price.  Let the recipient choose the wood, weight, and spinning properties.

I, Cynthia D. Haney, make one of a kind functional art tools.  What you are purchasing is the preorder of a spindle.  Your recipient can choose the details.  If I have one in stock I will mail it right away.  If not, I will make one and mail it when finished.  US shipping included with the purchase.

Classic is my standard price range as in classically beautiful.   Wood choices, for spindle shaft: Maple or Cherry  for whorl: Maple, Cherry, Tulip Poplar, Black Walnut, Oak, or Sycamore

Spectacular is my unusual extra pretty price range.  Wood choices, for spindle shaft: Maple, Cherry, or Black Walnut  for whorl: Eastern Red Cedar, Osage Orange, or unusually pretty pieces of any classic wood from spalting or quilting or coloration.

How to know which size to buy?   See the additional information for suggestions.

If the recipient prefers a lower price spindle, I will include a small item like button(s) to cover the difference.  This gift is not refundable or returnable.  The recipient has one year to choose their spindle.  If the preorder is not claimed after a year I will donate the proceeds to charity in their honor.

When checking out please use the order note to give me the recipient’s name, contact information, and when you are informing them.  I will communicate with the recipient by email or telephone if preferred.

Does the recipient make their own yarn?  if No give a Branch Size Top Whorl Spindle, consider including a private zoom lesson.

Do they spin yarn so thin it looks like sewing thread?  if Yes give a Twig Size Spindle

Do they spin yarn thick like rope or clothesline? if Yes give a Trunk Size Spindle

Do they spin with a spindle?  if No give a Top Whorl Spindle, Branch or Trunk size.  if Yes does the spindle touch a bowl while they spin? if Yes give a Bottom Whorl Spindle

Can’t decide? Give a Classic Trunk Size Top Whorl, that price covers many of the other choices.

Fine Print:  The recipient can choose other product(s) of equal value instead of a spindle.  The recipient has one year to choose their spindle.  If the preorder is not claimed after a year, I will donate the proceeds to charity in their honor.  If the choice requires making a spindle it may take months depending on my material and time availability.
